Our new season launched with a meeting celebrating Biodiversity – ‘All Creatures Great and Small’. This was the first meeting at our new venue, the Salvation Army Hall on Roe Street in Macclesfield.
Explorers had lots of fun learning about the variety of creatures in different habitats. We completed a virtual Bioblitz and played a fun game of ‘Standing Tree Trumps’ with the help of new Leader Martin.
Members also completed a fantastic mosaic swan with feathers made by drawing round their hands, carrying pledges and messages in support of nature conservation.
Older Wildlife Explorers and Phoenix members tried some team building games – with varying amounts of success. Leaders were really impressed with everyone’s attempts at lowering a hula hoop – much harder than it sounds!
We had a great first meeting at the Salvation Army Hall – it was really good to see so many familiar faces, and some new ones, having so much fun learning about wildlife.
