Thursday 20th March 2014: Materials Workshop – Nest Making and Seed Bombs

Coming at the very start of the season our March meeting was packed with springtime activities!   Wildlife Explorers learned all about the reasons that birds build nests and the properties of the materials they select to make them.           Volunteer Adam tested twigs to see if they were comfortable. He concluded that they were more comfortable when they were layered with something softer too!       We all tried to make our own nests and all the designs were tested out with real eggs (only these were chocolate ones!).            … Click here for more information…..
